£850 for a ceremony, plus travel where needed. Photography packages cost an extra £500. Sauna elopements cost an extra £200 for hiring the space. I ask for a £250 deposit when we agree to work together and the remaining fee to be paid 48 hours before the ceremony. I’ve laid out all the details in a ‘working agreement’ that we will chat through before starting the process.
What is the process?
- A meeting that is up to 2 hours to find out all about you and your love story. - Questions sent to you to complete individually (without telling your partner your answers), in a format that works for you. - A collaborative editing process. - A uniquely written ceremony script. - Vow writing support. - Suggestions for readings that reflect your story and themes. - Ideas for the ceremony itself, whether you have a big dream or can’t see the woods for the trees I will always have a lot of ideas for you to pick and choose from. - When needed I will coordinate with venues, wedding planners etc. - Time for a practice run of the ceremony if you would like one. - My dedicated time on the day. I will arrive 45mins before the ceremony and have booked that day entirely for you, so if anything runs later than planned or your Great Aunt Ethel asks to share her bagpipe solo at the last minute you know I am there for all of it. - Either a digital or printed commemorative copy of the ceremony script. - A tree dedicated to you via The Woodland Trust. You will receive a special dedications pack telling you all about your tree.
Optional Extra at additional cost:
- Public speaking support for yourselves, friends or family members. As an actor and performer I have a toolkit of tips and tricks to support your voice, build your confidence and help you to enjoy speaking in front of people. I also understand that talking in front of friends and family is way more nerve wracking than delivering a presentation to colleagues.
Where are you based and will you travel?
I am based in Bristol - a convenient base for weddings in Bristol, South Gloucestershire, Bath, Stroud, Gloucester and South Wales.
I offer reduced travel costs for weddings in East Yorkshire as I love an excuse for a trip home (I’m from Beverley, which is near Hull, which is kinda near York and to me will always be Humberside).
I am up for adventures and very happy to travel further afield or overseas, in this case let’s have a chat about travel/accomodation costs depending on the location.
Are your wedding ceremonies legally binding?
A humanist ceremony isn’t legally binding in England and Wales. In order to be legally married or civil partnered you need to register to do this at your local registry office. A humanist ceremony is legally binding in Scotland! So it is possible for me to legally marry you in Scotland.
Currently Humanists UK are campaigning to address this situation to make humanist ceremonies legally binding in England and Wales.
Do we have to be in a registered venue?
No. The joy of this being a humanist celebration means that it can take place anywhere, indoors or outdoors. There are some practical considerations when celebrating outdoors but nothing that can’t be managed.
Can we write our own vows or add readings/poems/interpretive dance?
Abso-bloody-lutely. It’s your celebration and you can do it however you want to. You can add whatever elements feel important to you, I’m here to create an experience that reflects who you are.
I can offer guidance for vow writing and it’s your choice if you would like to share your vows with your partner in advance or hear them for the first time on the big day.
Do you use Ai to help you write scripts?
Absolutely not. Whilst AI has a lot of uses I personally write each script and it is unique and tailored to you. If we work together you can be confident that the wedding script is all about your love story and you have the option to suggest edits or make additions along the way. Alternatively you can choose to hear it for the first time on the day - your call!
Can you help us find a musician, photographer etc?
Yes I can! After working in the entertainment biz for so long I know a lot of lovely people, whether you are looking for musicians, circus performers, a choreographer for the first dance or photographers. I can share with you the contact details of people I have worked with before and have confidence in.
Do you do elopements?
Yes. Whilst this is a more intimate experience the process is the same as for a larger ceremony. I can also offer a package deal with a photographer. Ask me about secret sauna elopements in Bristol!
