HELLO!

​Seems only fair that if I’m going to ask you A LOT of questions about you, you may want to know a little about me…

​I’m based in Bristol, but originally from Beverley in Yorkshire.  I’ve been in Bristol for 16 years and absolutely love it.

My name is pronounced Grawn-yuh. It’s an Irish name as my Mum is Irish. It means love, which makes me think that this job was clearly meant for me. 

I WAS A CIRCUS PERFORMER

I performed all over the world, dangling off silks, ropes, bits of scaffolding and other people.  A highlight was performing at Sydney Festival!

I’m queer and happily coupled, but he’s very private so I’ll say no more. ​

I WAS ONCE MARRIED!

It was a beautiful day and my ex-wife is now my very good friend. We got hitched in the woodland and had a party in a folly! It hasn’t jaded my perceptions of weddings or romantic love, if anything I have even more joy and excitement for people choosing to be so vulnerable and willing to take the leap.​

I AM AN ACTOR

I run a theatre company called Oddly Moving. We make small scale touring theatre shows that ‘tell stories on the outskirts of normal.’ ​

I HAVE TWO CATS

Their full names are The Dowager Duchess Bao and Major Kira. Or Bao & Kira for short.
 
I am a Trekkie, aka Star Trek fan. If you are too then the name of one of my cats will have already given that away!

WORKING INCLUSIVELY IS IMPORTANT TO ME

I have an autistic brother with severe learning disabilities, and I’ve worked a lot with people with additional needs and learning disabilities, as a workshop leader and support worker. I’m learning all the time and would love to create ceremonies that support your needs.

I AM A HUMANIST CELEBRANT

I have trained with humanists UK and I’m part of their network. It means that I have the support of other humanist celebrants, to share information with and access training.
